Google Offers and Banana Republic Announce New Partnership to help “Create Jobs for USA”
(Hanover, MD, April 3, 2012) Starbucks Coffee Company and Opportunity Finance Network® (OFN) welcome new partners Google Offers and Banana Republic to support the “Create Jobs for USA Fund,” a philanthropic program launched in November 2011 to create and preserve American jobs. The projected $4 million in donations expected to be raised through these partnerships will result in nearly $30 million in loans to small and non-profit businesses and community service organizations (like charter schools) focused on creating and sustaining jobs in underserved and disadvantaged communities.
Tomorrow only, Google Offers (www.google.com/offers) will feature a $10 Starbucks Card e-gift for $5. Google Offers will donate $3 for each offer sold, up to $3 million, to OFN to support the Fund. Banana Republic announced two special shopping events where customers will receive 25% off of their purchases in any U.S. store or online (www.bananarepublic.com), with five percent of the total purchases, up to $1,000,000, being donated to OFN to support the Fund. The first event will take place April 19 – April 22.
