Project Profile: Ground-up construction of a 19,252 square
foot, two-story, precast concrete facility on 34,000 square feet of
land in less than 2 months. Total project cost: $2.8
million.
CSDC worked closely with Carpe Diem Collegiate High School to
select the ideal location for its first replication school in the
State of Indiana, as well as in the creation of an economic and
efficient site design to support the school's state-of-the-art,
blended education model.
CSDC partnered with design/builder Bouma USA for the planning
and construction of the new facility that is located on one of
Indianapolis' busiest thoroughfares, North Meridian Street.
Facing size and space constraints on the small lot, the
development team paid special attention to the best use of space
when developing the site and building layout. In turn, the
finished product provides the school with ample space to support
its rigorous learning program, and additional space to promote the
health and wellness of its student population - a key component in
the school's daily regimen. The project's fast-track
construction schedule made it an inspiring focal point in a
neighborhood in the midst of revitalization.
CSDC and the school's founders were hands-on when it came to
generating support of all stakeholders - from the various
neighborhood advisory boards, to the Metropolitan Development
Commission - the most integral component to site development within
Indianapolis' corridors.
At full capacity, 300 students of all backgrounds and
abilities in grades 6 - 12 will receive a personalized
curriculum using state-of-the-art technology as they prepare for a
bright, successful future.
