Greg McKenna is a Managing Director with BB&T Capital Markets Public Finance Group responsible for originating tax-exempt bond issues for charter school and senior living clients. He is responsible for project origination, credit analysis, debt structuring, document development and review, rating agency reviews, institutional investor outreach, timing of the sale and closing for all types of tax-exempt bonds, notes, and securities instruments.
Prior to joining BB&T Capital Markets, Mr. McKenna had a long and successful career as an investment banker in PNC’s Capital Markets Public Finance Group and Head of their Charter School Group. He originated more than 75 capital finance projects over his 15 + years as an investment banker providing more than $800 million for tax-exempt borrowers in the K-12 educational space. From November 2007 through November 2010, Mr. McKenna served as a Board Member of the Bridgeway Capital 504 Board located in Pittsburgh, PA. The 504 program works closely with banks to help businesses expand by buying buildings or equipment, or renovating or constructing new facilities. The 504 loan is one of the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) loan programs, and provides growing businesses with long-term, fixed-rate financing.
His professional licenses include a Series 7 and Series 53, Series 63, and a Series 66 securities license.
A native of Pittsburgh, Mr. McKenna holds an MBA in Finance as well as a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing / Management both from Duquesne University. He resides in Mount Lebanon, Pennsylvania with his wife and daughter.
